As part of the upcoming Freestyle World Championships at Holme Pierrepont, British Canoeing are running a festival of paddlesports.
One of the events is a Rough Waters SUP competition, taking place on Sat 2 July.
Rough Waters SUP is a race series which utilises the environment in which the race takes place. The goal is to conquer the mayhem and work out how to get round as quickly as possible. Although it is a race for some, just completing the course will be challenge enough for others. This is ‘Adventure Racing for SUP’. Think it will test all your skills?
There will be a short practice session in the morning before you go out and set your time on the course. You’ll get two attempts at the course, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and you best time will count toward crowing the male and female Rough Waters SUP champions of the 2022 Freestyle World Championships.
Everyone who is comfortable on, or in, white water is welcome. You don’t need to be a SUP legend and boards will be provided so you can just turn up and enjoy the mayhem!
