Black Project Beadnell Belter (September 7th): Take on the North Sea challenge in this exciting event. Paddle across stunning scenery in 8km distance and 4km tech races for adults (Hardboard SUP, iSUP, and Prone). Juniors and those on the Challenge Tour will also find their categories represented. This is your chance to test your skills and strategy in a dynamic coastal environment.

The Black Project Beadnell Belter, run by Anna Little and the Northern SUP Race Team always out on a great event. Plenty will be going on; you can guarantee this will be one of our most highly represented junior events of the year. Some awesome prizes will be up for grabs after a great day's racing.

Black Project Calshot Castle Trophy (October 5th): The grand finale awaits! Paddle with a historic backdrop at Calshot Castle. Compete in the same race categories as Beadnell Belter, pushing yourself one last time for the season. Celebrate your achievements and the camaraderie of the sport at the end-of-season prize gala – a night filled with recognition and shared experiences.

The Distance race starts from the Calshot spit; paddlers will race up Southampton Water before returning to finish in the lagoon next to the Activities Centre. Juniors can take on a half-distance course along with the challenge tour for a thrilling morning of racing. In the afternoon, it's over to the other side of the spit to run the technical race in the Solent, offering a course with multiple turns per lap.

Once the racing has finished, we will be looking to hold an end-of-season prize gala - more details to come.

National Sprint Championships: Unleash Your Inner Speed Demon (September 8th)

Join forces with Paddle UK for the National Sprint Championships at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham. This is your chance to unleash your inner speed demon in thrilling 200m sprints. Race in individual lanes on a measured course, putting your explosive power and paddling technique to the ultimate test. Can't make it in person? No worries! The virtual qualification option allows everyone to participate and vie for the title of National Sprint Champion.

To enter the National Sprint Championships, paddlers must pre-qualify by completing a 200m time trial using a GPS device or tracking app such as Paddler Logger (using the race function for 200m). Paddlers will then need to upload their time and either an image (screenshot) or the GPX file from their device along with their time.

Qualifying times are:

Men's - 27 places - 1min 32

Ladies - 18 places - 1min 43

If you are unable to make the qualifying time before entry closes on August 21st, you can still be involved, as we will continue to run the 200m TT to create a Virtual National Ranking, so a great opportunity to take on your mates, find out who is the fastest in your club or set yourself a training goal over winter.
